Current Teega (Theega) Review - Story

Manchu Manoj's "Current Theega" has been creating a lot of positive buzz in the media ever since it was announced. Directed by "Dhenikaina Ready" fame G Nageswara Reddy, the movie has released in more than 700 cinema halls in 31 countries and has been successful in impressing the viewers.

"Current Theega" is an action thriller, which is loaded with romance, music, dance, emotion and comedy elements. Manchu Manoj has played the hero in the movie, which features Rakul Preet Singh, Sunny Leone and Jagapathi Babu in important roles. Achu Rajamani has composed tunes for the songs of the movie, which have rocked the music lovers.

The Manoj and Rakul starrer is a remake of 2013 Tamil film "Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam", which has already been remade in Kannada as "Adhyaksha". Nageswara Reddy, who penned Telugu story has made several changes in the script to suit the taste of the local audience. He has also added some commercial elements such as high-octane action scenes and an item song featuring Sunny Leone in the film.

Set in a village backdrop, "Current Theega" revolves around the story of a group of wastrels lead by Raju (Manchu Manoj). Raju is in love with school teacher Sunny (Sunny Leone) and he forces her student Kavitha (Rakul Preet Singh) to deliver his love letters and gifts to her. Sunny gets married to someone and Raju is left heartbroken.

Meanwhile, Kavitha's father Shivarama Raju (Jagapathi Babu) arranges for the wedding of his minor daughter, which Raju stops with the help of the police. What happens next will form the crux of the story.

"Current Theega" seems to be garnering mixed reviews from film goers. The audience, who are now watching the film in the theatres, took to their Twitter page to share opinions about the movie.

Storyline:

The plot of the movie is about a small-time village hero and his love story. There is action blended just in the right doze. The main lead played by Rakul has an interesting coverage.

 The movie is a perfect entertainer and giving the movie an ‘A’ cert is not at all fair. Sunny Leone’s  role was limited as School Teacher and there isn’t any vulgarity around her role and even in her special song.

Highlight:

The action scenes in the movie and the comedy of the movie are the best things. The story has been adapted beautifully for the Telugu audiences. Jagapathi babu is apt in his role as heroine’s father.Manoj, as usual has perfectly balanced his acting for the role. Rakul Preet was charming and the chemistry between Manoj and Rakul was lovely.

  Every actor in the movie has done good job. Audience can enjoy the movie till last without any doubt about the ‘A’ cert. Comedy was good and situational.Though Vennela kishore didn’t appear after the interval other comedians had tried their best to keep the comedy active.

 Sampoornesh appeared in a single scene and delivered a dialogue in his style, to which the audience were laughing their heads off, not just with Sampoo’s scene but for all the comic scenes in the movie have kept the momentum high. Even Manoj was good with his comedy and well framed dialogues.

Minus Points:

The movie’s certificate of ‘A’ is perhaps keeping the family audience a little away.

Verdict:- Current Theega is a High voltage entertainer- movie is worth watching, not just for once but twice and thrice too.!

Mishap on the sets of Rajinikanth’s Lingaa in hyd

Afreak incident on the sets of Rajinikanth's upcoming film Lingaa brought the film's shooting to a standstill on Friday morning. The film's unit had been filming a song featuring Rajinikanth and Sonakshi Sinha at a studio in the outskirts of Hyderabad when a member of the support staff, Sudarshan,who was working on a set, suffered a fall.

"As a part of the song, a huge set was being erected. Sudarshan was working on the set which is over five floors high when he fell accidentally. He suffered injuries to his legs and was immediately rushed to a hospital nearby,where he's currently undergoing treatment," informed a member of the film's unit. 

The doctors treating the young man said that there was no danger to his life. "He is responding well to the treatment and there is no danger to his life. However, he's not able to walk for now since he fell from a height," the doctors told media much to the relief of the filmmakers.

Trisha-Rana break their secret relationship!

 Recently during SIIMA (South Indian International Movie Awards), actor Rana Daggubati had eyes only for Trisha irrespective of whether he was onstage, off it, or even at the after-party. Though the two have been repeatedly denying the rumours, adding fuel to the alleged relationship, the duo travelled to Malaysia together to attend the awards.

There has always been a buzz that Kollywood actress Trisha and Tollywood star Rana seem to be dating. But the latest buzz is that the two have broken their secret relationship due to Rana's link-up's with various girls.

The two who had been following each other on twitter have now seems to have stopped following each other recently. Adding thought to the break up Rana Daggubati recently tweeted, "There are always three sides to a story, your side, their side and then the truth that's completely different from both the above."

Meanwhile Trisha seems to be retweeting quotes that suggest the she has moved on after the break up. The first was "Forgiving someone is easy, but being able to trust them again is a totally different story." The pretty actress followed it with "When a woman no longer gets frustrated and upset with you, you can almost guarantee that she doesn't care anymore."

Power Star Pawan Kalyan fulfilled the wish of a terminally ill 12-year-old fan Srija, by visiting her at the private hospital in Khammam where she's being treated. Srija, who was diagnosed with a brain tumor,was brought to Hyderabad for treatment by her parents recently when she expressed her desire to meet her favourite actor Pawan Kalyan.

"Pawan was saddened and broke down after seeing the state of Srija who wasn't responding to his attempts to talk to her. He spoke to Srija's parents and enquired with the doctors about her condition. Dasari, one of the stalwart directors of the Tollywood industry and an iconic man who is regarded as big daddy of the film industry. But even such an iconic personality had to face bitter experience on his facebook page. It is learnt that Chiru's fans started posting nasty comments on the director in comparison with their hero so much so that it reached a point the director himself gave a befitting reply to all those critics.

While thanking people for liking and following his FB page, Dasari took a dig on Chiru's indirectly. He reminded of Swami Vivekananda's quote: All condemnation of others, really condemns ourselves. Whatever you think - That you will be. If you think yourself weak - weak you will be. So, think yourself strong - strong you will be.

The veteran director reminded that he's been the man to be there any time for anyone needed and questioned reasons for suicide of hero Uday Kiran!

He also reiterated that the hero who's sided by fans with nasty comments on Dasari is one of his very close well-wishers and also reminded them that it was he who believed Chiru will become number 1 star during the times when NTR-ANR were there.

He also urged people to follow and maintain decorum of a public domain like Facebook and said that by reading such ill comments there is a chance that readers might misjudge the culture of all those writing such filth.

In fact, the reply was a like sweet poison to all those fans who go overboard at social media sites!

Pawan Kalyan's Gabbar Singh 2 to roll from Nov

The sequel to Telugu blockbuster Gabbar Singh is likely to go on the floors from November, reveals director Sampath Nandi, who says that actor Pawan Kalyan doesn't want to delay the project anymore.

"The project was supposed to have started a while ago, but since Pawan sir was busy with other engagements, it had to be delayed. He recently informed the team that he wants to start working on the sequel from next month (November)," Nandi said.

Pawan is currently shooting for Telugu comedy Gopala Gopala, a remake of Hindi film OMG: Oh My God! The rest of the cast of Gabbar Singh 2 will be finalized soon. It will be jointly produced by Pawan and his friend Sharrath Marar.

Sana Makbul is a bundle of nerves ahead of her maiden Tollywood release, Dikkulu Choodaku Ramayya. Going by the nature of the role she's playing, it promises to be quite an offbeat first. The 2012 Miss India finalist is playing an aerobics trainer caught in a love triangle involving a father and son — played by Ajay and Naga Shaurya. Ask her who she will eventually fall for, and she quips, "You'll have to watch the movie for that." 

Sana is quick to clarify that the film isn't going to be as shocking as the premise makes it out to be, saying, "It's a beautiful multi-layered story which revolves around four characters and how their relationship with each other evolves with time. It's going to be a new concept for Telugu audience and that's what got me excited in the first place. Right now, I'm really nervous about whether people will accept me or not and depending on that, I'll decide what to do next." 

Sharing her experience of working with her co-stars Sana says, "Naga Shaurya is an amazing co-star and I had a blast shooting with Ajay as well. In fact, Ajay came to my rescue most of the times when Koti (director) had to explain a scene to me." Unfamiliar with Telugu, the actress admits shooting was a big challenge. "Language is a big barrier and since I don't speak Telugu, Koti and I used to converse in sign language. Thankfully, I understood his vision and my co-star Ajay helped me a lot to understand what I was supposed to do," she recalls. 

Talking more about how she got the offer, she recalls meeting producer Sai Korrapati in Mumbai, who convinced her that she would suit the role of an aerobics trainer in this new age romantic drama. "I was supposed to act in another film under Sai garu's production. But he was convinced that I would be the perfect fit for this film. I guess I was destined to debut in Tollywood," she says. 

The actress has, quite understandably, taken an immense liking to the entire team at Vaarahi Chalana Chitram banner, which had earlier produced blockbusters like Eega and Legend. 

"Honestly, I feel at home here and I really missed talking to Koti and Sai when I didn't have a shoot. They pampered me a lot on the sets and Sai garu made sure I got what I wanted. I guess it also helped that I was the youngest girl on the set," Sana laughs. 

Dikkulu Choodaku Ramayya, jointly produced by Sai Korrapati and Rajani Korrapati under Vaarahi Chalana Chitram, is releasing today.

'Baahubali' to make a splash at Comic Con in Hyderabad

If you happen to swing by to Comic Con, which begins here Friday, you're likely to be enthralled by some interesting activities and surprises being planned by the team of upcoming Telugu magnum opus "Baahubali".

Comic Con, which will take place at Hitex Exhibition Center, will continue till Sunday.

According to the organisers, the "Baahubali" team will ask fans to dress up as one of the main characters from the film. The makers have already released the look of all the three lead characters.

"The participants will get assured prizes and a winner will be picked based on online response to the pictures of the cosplay. Each participant will receive a fan card on the cosplay and two lucky winners will get a chance to visit the film's set," read a statement.

This content will also be actively promoted on social media. The team will also send two junior artists from the crew, in costumes from the movie.

The first will be a drummer who will go around the open space outside the venue shouting about the forthcoming arrival of the 'King'.

He will be followed by an artist who will be dressed as Baahubali, who will spend time taking pictures with people during the peak hours of the day only.
